WC SD Gopher, Anery?

John Q Jun 03, 2003 09:20 PM

Last year I collected 1 female SD gopher from an area I wish to keep private. (sorry guys) As you can see in the pic she has nice bright straw yellow background, lots of red in the lower third of her dorsal area. I really like her color. She is up to size but she was not cycled. I'd like to breed her next year.
Recently, I collected another female. This one has no yellow. The background color is gray/silver not straw yellow. The dorsal area has a distinct greenish color, very unusual. There doesn't seem to be any red or yellow on her. What do you think she is?

Earlier this year I posted a pic of the older female because I've been told that there are pacific gophers in this area and her dorsal pattern in the neck area did not look like my other SD gophers, a CB pair, anery male and albino female. If I compare the WC with my CB anery male, they are different. My CB anery is silver, gray, and black, no green cast. He looks just like all the other anery SD gophers in the classifieds and forums. Not sure but is it possible that one is anery type A and the other is type B or some other gene is eliminating the yellow and red?
Any info, comments, etc. would be appreciated.
Thanks
I can't get multiple images to post using the same commands as the old forum. I guess I'll have to post the other pics separately.

Here's a pic of the LTC female that shows how much red she has in the lower third of her dorsal area.

Here's the first pic of the female I recently collected. As you can see, no yellow or red.

Here's a pic that shows her sides a little better.

Hello John,
Not sure if it's an anery or not, looks like it could easily be. Whatever it is, congrats on a great looking snake, and good luck with it.
Have a good day,
