Anyone keeps Pelochelys??

janaki Dec 25, 2003 05:25 AM

Can anyone tell me if they are keeping Pelochelys sp. There's a zoo close by who just got one from the West Coast of India - is that cantori or bibroni? And they are clueless about what to feed it. I know they eat live fish but is there anything else that we can add to this?

Many thanks.

That would be P. cantori. P. bibroni is from southern Papua New Guinea and P. signifera is from northern Papua New Guinea.

Live fish is pretty much the staple diet in captivity. There are quite a few P. cantori around in U.S. collections. I don't personally keep any but I have several friends that have all 3 species.
