crested gecko eggs

herptile.com Dec 25, 2003 09:47 AM

I have several eggs that have gone about 70 days in the incubator and when I checked on them last night the largest one looked like it hadegg white on the outside of its shell and now today it is smaller then it has ever been.

Should I slit the egg open?

Do crested gecko eggs normally shrink right before hatching, I know my beardie and leopard gecko eggs did not

When i notice this i up the water in the dirt. SO they can get out easier. I have lost a couple due to there not being enough water in the dirt.

I dont recommend you incubate you Rhac eggs in an incubator. You will have a much betterr hatch rate if you incubate at room temp. Just set them up in a container with a miost substrait an put them on a shelf or something.
