question bout my new corn

rttlrvenom Dec 25, 2003 12:29 PM

ok yesterday i got my first corn. my step dad brought it home and i didnt have its enclosure set up so i had to rush and throw one together which only took like 10 minutes since i had most of the stuff already. the only thing i dont have is thermometers, but im getting them tomorrow. The minute i put her in there she went straight for a hide like normal then i watched her for about 5 minutes and she came out had a drink and started exploring i saw here exploring and i kinda broke a rule i defrosted a pinky and put it next to her. The minute she saw it she latched on to its butt and started swallowing she's a little pig (i mean im not complaining i love that she ate.)

My question is today she dosent seem active at all just the normal thermoregulating movement is this normal since she just ate. I know im worring a lot but she is my first snake. Shes probably fine i just need to hear an experenced one say it.

Thank in advance
Rv

p.s. i'll probably be pretty anoying with posts for a while i have like 5 care sheets it just that they dont answer my questions the way the people do in this forum.

>> It sounds as if your little snake is settling in quite well.
The fact that it ate that quickly means it adapts to change easily, this is a good sign.
They will usually retreat to safety after eating. In the wild they are most vulnerable when full after a meal and when their eys are clouded before shedding.
Good luck

Sounds good. I will admit that I have fed several of my snakes the day or day after they have come home. Now...the rule that you don't want to break right now is: No handling after eating for a few days. New snake...new environment...let it digest in peace. Good lookin' snake, by the way. Best of luck with it.
