The only tegu that can eat insects it's whole life would be a dwarf tegu. I gave you some other options in the monitor forum as well. Plain and simple, MOST tegus and monitors will eventually need rodents as a primary source of nutrition once they reach 2 feet or so. Does this look like the face of someone who would be happy with crickets? Billy

Yeah tegus get a little big too be eating insects as adults. Maybe those hissing cockroaches they look pretty big. If you don't want to feed thawed rodents you could use eatable bone meal mixed in with turkey, on ham, or cooked fish. They also eat fruit and veggies after they get past that cricket stage.
