how to heat a cage

aznfish919 Dec 25, 2003 06:49 PM

i was just wondering how u guys heat up a cage for GTP-since they stay on the branches all the time, i dont see how a undertank heater would be good for them-i will be keeping the snake in a room where the room temp is around 65 degrees-70 deg, which is nt warm enough so i need to find a way to provide suplemental heating.
jim
and what is the best enclosure for a yearling gtp.
thanks
jim

Hi Jim,

I am currently heating my GTP with a heat lamp, placed over the top of it's current enclosure, a 10 gallon tank. Glass aquariums are fine, but I will be building a custom enclosure for my hatchling when he grows a little bit bigger.

Good Luck!

hey ralph...i dont mean to sound like a jerk but you just got your first GTP a week ago...id slow down a bit and let some seasoned keepers give the advise ..by the way..either get smaller perches for your hatchling or give that snake to me and get yourself a hampster for that cage..ha ha ha
