Head bobbing? is this specific to male and females?

well i got home today after going to riverside(what an adventer) from picking up my make tamatave, i thoughti could put him in the cage with my female until i had his cage set up. when i introduced him she startied knodding her head, then a few more nonds, then the gaping, the whole time she was turning liek a black/orange, well i didnt put him in there,i was told that my"female" could be a male, but am unsure, what do you all think?

Dave,

We have a few females that bob their heads too.
This is not exclusively a male action - but usually the males do most of the bobbing/nodding.

ok, cool, i was starting think about the ramifications of just purchasing a male, and having two.My new male is home and is shedding as i type this.i'll try to get a fresh pic tomorow, Thanks, Dave
