I'm thinking of getting some new cages, but I am a lil worried about the snake getting between the sliding glass and breaking it or escaping. Anyone use sliding doors?

AC,
I'm using 3 foot Visions for my texas indigos. They are 02's and still fairly small. I will move them into Freedom Breeders when they get bigger. I haven't had any problems with the Vision cages. Ron

I have had escapes from visions, I use neo slant fronts mostly. They take up quite a bit of room, but are great cages, they lock and give you plenty of working room for active snakes. You want to make sure you use tempered glas for Cribos, they hit hard and often when hungry!
All the cages I have with indigos in them have sliding glass fronts. I use tempered glass, 1/4" thick. I also make sure that I have some sort of way of securing the glass. I found just drilling a hole in the slot the glass is in and placing a peg into the hole works fine for all the snakes I have that are strong and smart enough to slide open the glass. There are plenty of companies selling locks for sliding glass too if you want to be fancy.
