Rare Lizards?

Icarus Dec 25, 2003 10:13 PM

Being fairly new to the "herp" world, I'm not really certain which lizards are commonly available, rare or even endangered. However, I've seen two lizards which are absolutely gorgeous creatures in the Ctenophorus family - or "Australian Dragons." These are the "Ctenophorus caudicinctus slateri" or Ring Tailed Dragon, and the "Ctenophorus isolepis gularis" or Military Dragon. Are these impossible to get? Illegal to get? If anyone has any information, either specific to these lizards or generally on rare lizards - could you offer some advice?

Australia doesn't export their wildlife. So if it's not already in the US, there's not a very good chance anyone's going to get ahold of it. Which depresses me, because all I want is one lousy Moloch. Just one!

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
