Why won't she eat? She usually has no problems

jamesk Dec 25, 2003 10:49 PM

My 11' female burm has been eating f/t rabbits for a couple years now with no problems. Heat it up and throw it in. That's it. Now for 2 months every week and a half I've tried to get her to eat with no luck. I know she is hungry. She paces her cage all the time and has gone as far as to rub all the skin off her nose. I've now wasted four 5 pound rabbits. But mainly I am worried about her scarred nose and appetite. Does anybody have any suggestions? Please help. I'm worried sick!!!!!

She has probably developed some folicles and a pre-ovulation and yearns for a mate. Raise her temps to about 90 and feed her in a week or two. Over time she should re-absorb any reproductive matter stored inside her.

Hi,
I agree with other reply. Also don't worry too much about your snake not eating. She could go months and months without eating.Try to apply antibiotic ointment to help her face heal. It's more important to take care of that before it can develop an infection.
