Roach Qs

I know I'm not in the feeder forum but I trust you guys more LOL... I'm deciding between death heads and orange head roaches for my panther and veiled chams. I have hissers now but I wanna get going with some other insect species and another type or roach or two is where I'm starting. What's the difference in these 2 types? Which breeds faster, gets bigger, etc.... I can get death heads in town here at good prices so that's a plus. Also, I don't think either of these are climbers are they? I may be wrong. Are full grown of either of these too big for large panthers or veileds? In a month or so I'll probably have some Melleri to feed so large might be ok. What's a good number to start off with for a small colony? Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Tyler,

We are feeding lobsters mostly. We switched from hissers because the panthers and veiled didn't really go for them. The melleri actually wanted anoles; frogs; land snails over the roaches.

We just got another 2,000 roaches to expand our colony - the orange heads and others seem a bit too pricy to us - and these lobsters multiply pretty quick. We feed the ones without wings - and keep those winged guys as the breeders - always.

There are some good links for roach info on hubby's computer - drop us an email and I'll forward them to you.
