I just wanted to say the party that had the orange spot for sale, recently posted a pic. Which is obviously in the monitor's regular enclosure. Not only do I feel like a shmuck now, but felt the need to clarify for those who didn't notice the change in the pic.
As stated in the original post, it was never anything against the vendor/seller. I just get continually frustrated with picture after picture of insanely unsuitable set ups... which are nothing more validation to the lack of education in the reptile world. Store after store, selling "pets" to people with either no information or horribly wrong information... this is bad enough. I just HATE seeing it, on sites where the vendors are supposed to be specialists (ie. people who know their stuff about reptiles.) it just isn't the case. Although it does settle better seeing that the lizard hasn't led AS horrible of a life as I had suspected.. sorry for venting.. and I apologize to the owner of the "Orange Spot"...
Quick question though (this isn't directed at anyone, just a simple question.) I've seen quite a few orange spot pictures online although non in person. And they all appear to not only be uglier and more drab than your standard/nominate form of salvator water monitor but also over all "uglier" (of course this is a matter of taste.) Is there something i've missed with these? As of yet I haven't seen one with orange or abnormal spots....
oh well .. hasta,
J
