It would depend on where you live and what type of caging you use, but for the most part I think a misting system would be a waste of both time and money. I live in an area with moderate humidity and use cages with minimal ventilation. I never mist my carpets. These snakes really don't need as much humidity as most people say they do. And in those rare occasions when you would need to mist them, a misting system would really be overkill. A simple hand sprayer would work just fine.

I live in an area that has low humidity this time of year. I've noticed that my carpet python gets by fine with a spraying (spray bottle) or a soak now and then. He is less affected by lower humidity levels than say my Boa constrictor. Adding a larger water bowl helps too. Based on this I'd venture that carpets do not require the humidity that would warrant a misting system. Of course, it will depend on your caging. If using a cage with lots of screen ventilation in a dry area, it may be a different story. But carpets do not require high humidity.
