Plants in a Collared cage?

Icarus Dec 26, 2003 07:31 PM

Has anyone ever tried doing this? I'm considering putting in a sensivaria (spelling?) in the corner... and I read that it is a safe plant for lizards in general. Are there any specific problems in placing a plant with a collared; would it raise the humidity? Anyhow, any information would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I'm not familiar with the plant your thinking of, but I dont think one plant raises the humidity to a harmful level. Anyway some think a bit of humidity is fine.

As far as ANY plants, in their tank, I have found unless its extremely strong, sturdy they dont hold up.
Collareds jump all over them through them, on top of them, well you get it, they smash them down, knock them over,

I have used aloe, hawortha, another one called (hens & chicks) and a type of succulant, no thorns, with some success, but all my enclosures are plantless now, so I suppose it did not work for long, lol But yes you can try !!!
Have a great holiday weekend ! And Happy New Year !

Thanks,

As for the plant I mentioned, I've been informed that it is the "indestructable plant" and it is actually more difficult to kill it than to keep it alive.

Happy New Year indeed.
