Hi I need info about Chameleons and the best type to get for a newbie

Well I was at a pet shop today and I saw these Graceful Chameleons. I havent been able to find much info about these creatures. However I found one place where they said that they are bad pets. I would like info about what is the best kind to have and most enjoyable. I generaly have turtles and a rusian tort. I have had those little lizards in the past though. I like to find the most info on a pet before I consider anything. Thanks.

Graceful chameleons aren't good beginner chameleons (I don't consider them good advanced chameleons). I've had them before and they were the shortest lasting of any chameleons I've kept. They are almost all wild caught and generally are in bad shape. Start off with something like a veiled or panther chameleon or possibly jacksons. Veileds are the traditional beginner chameleon since panthers cost so much. Depending on how much you're going to commit (in time and $$$) you may want to go for the panther. They're beautiful and are generally alot nicer than veileds are.
