how to tell if snake is fat?

shortydsm Dec 27, 2003 02:56 AM

I know obesity is a serious issue with snakes & I was wondering how to tell if my snake was fat or just healthy? I do not have a scale...

Not a big issue with rosy boas. They're supposed to be a bit chubby. I think that if you see its sides creasing up when it tries to bend, that would be a problem. Other than that I've never really seen a ground boa that I'd call obese.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
