My ig has been free roaming since I adopted him in March. It took him a few weeks to find a poop spot & I got him to go in the corner by my front door on newspapers over the tile. Igs are like leos & AFTS... they will find a poop spot & be consistent with it. Except he got into his meanie breeding season about 2 months ago & he has been pooping on my couch & on the floor right by my computer! Bad boy! Hopefully when he returns to normal, he will go back to his "polite" pooping habits so I don't have to clean up after him 2x a day!

my iguana freeroams my room, but he gets hours of florida sun outside in his sunning cage. 90% of the time I leave him in the cage until he poops, t (the complete sun and heat seems to stimulate that, then clean the cage and put him back in until the sun starts to go down., and despite artificial heat inside my room and his basking spot, on rainy or "cold" days when he is inside, he will often hold out and I need to put him in his cage the next day so he will go. Before we had his sunning cage his favorite place to poop was on top of my bed.

No!!! Iggi has never pooped anywhere but in the tub, during her morning bath, or outside, during her daily walks for exercise and fresh air. We didn't even have to train her to do this, either. Well, the exception is the vet's office, but she was nervous because she smelled/heard all the dogs. She has never pooped in our house, outside the tub.
