Is that normal for this time of year?
Is she outdoors?

Trying to keep the fun in Chelonian care
Yes to both questions.
One female BEGINS her nesting season in October or November and lays till December or January.
Another female begins laying at the end of December and lays until March.
Other females are in between these times.
And yes, except when the temps get into to mid 50s at night they are outside. But you have to remember that this is south Florida. It may get cool only for a few nights at a time and even then it is usually sunny in the morning and the ground temps are much warmer. It was in the mid 70s today and sunny so the ground temp was very warm.
But of course, if it is excessively windy and dry, or cold and rainy, I bring them inside.
What is the normal nesting time for redfoots? I'm curious if tortoises where the seasons are reversed from ours have a different nesting season when in captivity, or do they adjust to our seasons?

My Colombian redfoots would beging laying in late Spetember or October and then each female would nest again 28 to 32 days later. They would produce anywhere from 3 to 5 clutches depending on the individual female. Clutch size could vary from 1 to as many as 7 (only one female did that)eggs but 3 or 4 was typical for Colombians.
The redheaded or cherryheads seem to start laying a month or so later as I mentioned above. The largest clutch that I have got has been 5 eggs but they were all smallish too. Three is about the average but I have got numerous clutches of only one egg---like yesterday. These girls are also more variable as to when they lay their second or third clutch.
Not sure but my girl laid five eggs last year around this time and she seems to be digging around again in the mulch this year so maybe she is gonna try again.
