Grout sealant?

skits Dec 27, 2003 03:19 PM

Hey all, well i've been working on a cage with fake rock for the back wall. I covered the wall with styrofoam, and then covered the styro in sanded grout. I put a couple coats of grout on, and then put a grout sealant on thats supposed to keep it from cracking. My question is does this sound right, or am i giving myself alot of extra work? I appreciate any advice, thank you.

I'm not certain I understand your question - it seems to me that you've done all the word already. Polystyrene, Tile Adhesive (grout) and the sealant.... Isn't your wall already made?

Peter - Since when did they change the meaning of "for" to "from?"
Brian - They had a meeting about it last night.
Peter - Why wasn't I informed?
Brian - They sent you a card, but it said "For Peter" so you must have thought it was from yourself so... It's just easier to call you stupid.

Should be "all the work," not "all the word".

I was asking if there is an easier way to doing all this, grout and tile adhesive are a little different. Grout dries hard, and tile adhesive is thin and needs a polyacrylic coat put on to harden it. I didn't use tile adhesive, i had used grout and it cracked up alot so i had to put alot of coats of it on. Is tile adhesive different, being easier to apply? (doesn't crack up as bad?) LOL maybe i just used to completely wrong kind of grout. I got Sanded grout from lowes (Brand was lacticrete). This was my first attempt ever building a rock background so i really appreciate all the advice i can get, haha thank you.
