lost snake- heeeeelp

Linzoy Dec 27, 2003 03:28 PM

My sister took my snake out for about 15 minutes, (WITHOUT TELLING ME....) and she has the attention span of a freaking butterfly so of course he's lost now. I don't know what to do. I've looked all over. All advice would be appriciated-thanks. I tried to put a stack of towels in the darkest corner of the room, but my dad went insane and started yelling about creating diversions instead of doing any real work. I read somewhere that snakes like to crawl into towels. I don't think anything involving food would work, nariko (my snake) hasn't been showing any intrest in food recently.

hey well first off good luck with both your snake and your dad, second it would help to know what kind of snake it is, since different snakes have different atributes, like ball pythons i have help to track down,(even my own), didn't go far from where they got lost, as for corns i have herd of them dissapearing for years only to be found crwaling across the floor looking for mates 2-3 years later,so let us know and maby i and the rest of us on kingsnake can help you narrow your search and find the little one

My dad calmed down after a few minutes and put the towels on the floor. Anyway he's a ball python, only about two feet long. I've looked everywhere, he must have gone pretty far. The only place I haven't looked is the basement...

I don't know why towels would work but hey. I would check inside any upholstered chairs or couches....before someone sits and crushes the little dude. I would tend to look ground level rather than up with a BP (now my ratsnakes or boa always climb) And look in spaces even if you think it is too small.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with the software.

I remember reading a post where a guy said that whenever one of his snakes is missing for more than a few days, it almost always seems to wind up in the basement...I just mention that since you stated that you had not looked there. Keep looking...everywhere.
Especially, as previously noted, places that will wind up being a danger to the snake(underneath things on the floor that will get stepped on, for example). Good luck. I think that your sister's new full time job should be helping you find your snake. I also think that she owes you BIG time. Duffy
