head bobbing.

svinarsk Dec 27, 2003 04:09 PM

My iguana goes off on a head bobbing tantrum after I take him from his widow cill to his cage. Does this mean he is mad? What does the head bobbing mean?

Also, I noticed some of those itsy bitsy red bug thingies in his cage along with some other dark tiny bugs. This happened before, I think they are being flown in fromt he vent near the igs cage. I took everything out and washed it. And washed the ig. Is this enough? He doesnt seem to have any on him anymore... Should I consult a vet?

Happy Holidays

head bobing is a teritorial thing. mine does it as well.

for the red and black things you got a mite problem. not sure exactly what to do because i have never had to deal with them. but i know they are bad. i would take all the old stuff out and wash/soak it good and for a decent amount of time. also going to the vet probebly is not a bad thing but i dont think it is nessesary but he.she may be able to give you something that will take care of them better than the stuff you can buy at your local pet shop.
