I'm interested in buliding my own cage for my beardie, but I don't know where to start. Is there a website where I can find some ideas or blueprints for cages? Thanx in advance.

well here are a few things:

if we are talking WxL = SqFeet of area make it at least 6-8 for one dragon. my dragon roams a 900 sq ft apt. now and hates beeing "coop'ed up" !

plan on having enough Hight for lights and raised areas. at least 18" to 24" tall.

if you want to build a solid base and back then you should cover it with a non-toxic material, I don't know the name but one good option is the laminate used on kitchen counter tops.

make openings for cleaning and handling from the front and sides/ ends better for the dragon and for you.

plan on the lights giving off a *LOT* of heat and use material that can take 250 watts of heat.

arrange it so that the dragon *CAN NOT* get to the light bulbs esp. basking bulbs. 100 watt and higer can give him a nasty burn. they don't understand the danger as in the wild they cant "touch" the sun.

I have thought a "L" shape in a room corner would be slick!

Do you have any pics of a cage that you built? How much did it cost for you to build your cage?

This is a cage I had built for my dragon. It's 5'x2'x2' in size.
