Clicking sound and gaping....

stueyismyfriend Dec 27, 2003 10:14 PM

We have a very young Ball Python, newly acquired (2 weeks), who has just today began making a sort of clicking sound (respiratory?) and tends to "yawn" frequently. Until today these behaviours were not observed, and we spend a lot of time with this little guy. We will take him to the vet Monday for testing, but does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts on this? BTW...he has eaten beautifully, no regurgitation and we have seen two healthy bowel movements and have seen him drinking water.

Make sure your relative humidity is right for the species. A humid hide might be a good idea. This can sometimes be caused by shedding but it can be an early sign of a respiratory infection.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
