Hibernating dragons...need some info

snakecharmed Dec 28, 2003 03:34 AM

I have a 2.2 group currently hibernating, my question is, how long should I allow them to rest before I warm them back up? I have read several different things regarding this so I'm a little confused as to the correct cool down period. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Christy

I just let mine wake up when they feel like it. Usually about 6 weeks. I am actually going to wake them up in 6 days because that wil be 6 weeks.

Mine brumate for 2-3 months. I have always let them wake on their own timing. They are asleep now and have been for about 2.5 months already.

I'm not sure what triggered them this year, as one went about 1 week after the other. They live in separate tanks and had no direct line of sight at the time. There were no changes in the immediate environment and we live in L.A., so it never gets very cold.

Oddly enough, we had a heat-wave a few weeks back and the dragons didn't even notice.
