Pinkie decapitation

mbdorfer Dec 28, 2003 08:06 AM

Hello everyone, I have been reading the posts concerning regurgitation and am having a problem with 2 amels. My question is; how does one go about cutting the head off a pinkie? Obviously it is not done live, but exactly how is this done? Thanks, Mike B

I just take a sharp kitchen knife, put the thawed pink on a small plate, and...well...cut the head off. Right at the neck.
I find it easier and less gross than "braining" for problem eaters, and for a snake that has regurged or is otherwise having digestive trouble, it would seem that some of the "goodies" will be able to get into your snake's system more quickly...easier to digest in general. Good luck. Duffy

Freeze it and cut the head off while it is still frozen. It's less messy if you do.

Thanks, I was wondering if you could do it frozen. When it thaws does "stuff" ooze everywhere or what? Curious.

Yes there is some mess when it thaws but not near as bad as doing it when they are already thawed or freshly killed.
I use a box cutter. Nice and sharp.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with the software.
