Hognose weight loss question

zhiv9 Dec 28, 2003 09:29 AM

I have had my male western hognose since july. He ate weekly right through to the middle of September. At that time he weighed 72 grams(there are 28 grams in an oz). He then went off feed for 5 weeks after which he ate one hopper/crawler mouse, then he didn't eat again for 5 weeks and ate another hopper/crawler mouse. Since then he hasn't eaten. He now weigh 68 grams, my question is need I
be concerned? I understand that they do sometimes go off feeding seasonally.

Thanks in advance

I do not think a four gram difference is significant at all. That could actually be the weight in water, depending upon the last time it drank.
