Egg laying chamber? Sizes?

jimbat Dec 28, 2003 12:33 PM

What size egg laying chamber do you people use with your Hondurans. My Hondurans are being housed in Rubbermaid blanket boxes, 16"x22"x6" tall. I realize it has to be short enough so she can enter the hole in the lid and big enough so she can comfortably move around and lay her eggs.

So what are some sizes and brands being used out there???

Thanks
Jim Baptista

I use rubbermaid shoe boxes full of moist sphagnum moss for my honduran females for egg laying. The bottom inside measurments are 6.5in. by 11in. There is a little more length than needed inside them but I place them with one end towards the warmer side of the cage and the other towards the cool end so they can have a little temp choice in the egg laying box when they are laying.
That has worked well for me but most any container with a little extra room for them to move around after you put your moist substrate in the egg laying container will work fine. Randy W.
