I used a circular saw with good results. Just go slow and leave the film covering on the plexi until after its's cut. Good luck! Billy

use a craft knife to score the plexiglass and then wedge it on the score between a wardrobe door or 2 sheets of ply and bend it back, you get a very clean cut if you do it right
Well thats the way i cut it quickly anyway

Hello.
I was just gifted with some used pieces of thin plexi from work. Hurrah! I didn't know a safe way to cut it, and the protective paper was long since long. I bought a solder iron for 9 bucks, and used it to score along where I wanted to cut. Then I flipped it and scored the other side too. You are basically burning the line in, takes a while. But it breaks clean where you want it to, and you can use the iron to smooth down any sharp edges.
Works great on the thin stuff. Never tried it on anything thicker.
Good luck.

Two simple options. Either buy a utility knife that is made to score the plexi. Only costs a few dollars. If the plexi is thick, score BOTH sides, lay the plexi over a table with your 'cut-line' right at the edge of the table, lay a 2x4 over this for support (I also clamp it)and break it.
However, if you have thick plexi it is much, much easier to simply cut with a table saw (or rote saw). If you want a clean cut, buy a fine tooth blade. Otherwise simply cut with a rough cut wood blade.
Hope this helps,
Mike
