Handling hatchlings

K1LOS Jun 04, 2003 12:21 AM

I just got two very young leos (they are probably 3 inches head to end of tail), and am wondering the best way to getting them accustomed to handling? They seem to get very stressed when i try too pick them up, and they are very fast. It's hard to pick them up gently. Anyways, let me know how you got your geckos to accept handling. Thanks

Slow and stedy I guess. Try just putting your hand in the cage to get them used to your smell and apperance. Than start to try pick them up.

I had to do this with my King Sname when I first got her.. but that process is alittle more painful as snakes tend to strike then ask questions.

Anyways most baby gex from what I have read will run away and hiss most of the time.
