Parts for Wolfe microscopes?

Colchicine Dec 28, 2003 06:06 PM

I am desperately trying to find a part for my Wolfe microscope. A search of the Internet yields very little results, and not even the manufacturer's web site. I can only guess that they do not have one. I'm looking for a piece that holds the slide on the stage. Without it I have to use my fingers to hold the slide down to the stage so that they can be searched methodically. I had a retired chemistry professor look at it and he had not seen anything like it before and could not offer any suggestions. Does anybody have a contact number for Wolfe or a place I can get parts?

I had the same difficulty trying to find Wolfe's address of manufacture. It seems that Carolina Biological Supply is one of their main retailers, so you may want to contact them via their 800#--they also may know how to contact Wolfe micro. Also, you may want to contact the several microscope re-conditioning companies that can be found on the internet--they may have spare-- or hard-to-get parts laying around the shop. Link is below:

What I found out today when I called, is that Wolfe is Caroline's own brand of microscopes. No wonder I could not find its Web site!!

The guy I spoke to was very nice, he even had records on when the microscope was purchased, 1980. He is going to track down the part I need and send it to me complementary. Now that is customer service!
