Where to place ventilation in new cage...

btorgy Dec 28, 2003 06:06 PM

I am building a double-decker 4 x 2 x 4 foot cage for my Uro's, and can't deside where or how big of ventilation openings to put in. Uro's want it very hot, like 125 F in basking and 90 F in the rest of the cage. I also realize the top cage will be warmed from the bottom one as well. So is it best to put ventilation on the sides or back of the cages? And does anyone have ideas for making vents that you can adjust?
Thanks,
Beth

Well...

Hot air rises, so you probably want the vents at the bottom of the enclosures. Not sure on what size you'd need.

As for making them adjustable...
I got a couple vents from Rockler.com and what i did to make them adjustable was cover it with tape. Not the greatest but works.
