You have a male. Look close at your pictures. Where his two legs come together, see the upward-pointing arrow head ^ of dots? If that is visible, it means it's a male.

ultanoleman Dec 28, 2003 08:27 PM

Thanks very much.
But how is it shaped on the female?

twistedgalaxy Dec 28, 2003 08:35 PM

The dots - aka femoral pores - are not visible on females. Leopard geckos are pretty easy to sex, compared to scorpions. d;

take a look: http://www.reptilecare.com/leopardgender.htm

The pores are visible on the females, too.

ahh Im so confused lol. Yeah my Leo's porse are pretty light, are you guys sure its still a male?

alebron Dec 28, 2003 09:36 PM

The males pore are very visible. Usually the males have a thicker neck and a wider head. Females usually have skinnier necks.

Try looking around at pictures of different male, and female geckos.

Your Gecko is a male. The way I figure this out with my Geckos is under the pores, there are to big bulges right were the tale starts. On females, there are no bulges, its just a vent with two gaps in the side were the tale starts.
Take a look at that site again.

I don't mean to be gross lol but is the bulges the testicles?

ultanoleman Dec 28, 2003 09:45 PM

And where is a good site for adult females? I do not want like females that are over $100 and etc..I just want a normal Leopard female. I have a lot of other animals in my list so thats why I need a cheap female.

alebron Dec 28, 2003 09:49 PM

go to a reptile expo and u can get normals for $10-20.

Witeleo Dec 28, 2003 10:05 PM

Here are some nice leopard gecko sites. There are some nice normals like you want.
http://www.vmsherp.com/4saleAvailLeopard.htm
This looks like a reasonable place to get a gecko, they have a pic of everyone.

http://lllreptile.com/v2/content/catalog/?section_string=animals&category_string=geckos
I have talked to the care takerrs of these geckos. They take nice care of them all and there leos are very nice priced.

Thats all I can come up with in this short time. They would have helped me. I hope they do for you.

But what is the point of getting those Leopards from the internet when Alebron said you can get one for like 10-20?? But If I don't get to find out when the next expo wil be I wil be forced to order from the internet. Plus I could even buy all the animals I want from the Expo .

But where do I find out when the next one is!! AHHHH lol.

Witeleo Dec 28, 2003 10:28 PM

Just do A google search for reptile expos, time for bed, night.

ultanoleman Dec 28, 2003 10:31 PM

lol, the first link on the google search showed the White Plains date!! Dang you guys are good HAHAHAHA.

Thanks!!
