Shedding/feeding question...

tygar Dec 28, 2003 08:55 PM

Hello everyone! I have read through this forum so many times in the past couple of weeks that my head spins... but, I want to thank everybody for such great information. I know if I have a ? I can find the answer here!
I was wondering...
I have a yearling flourescent corn (she's beautiful, of course), and I believe she is going to shed soon. Her skin isn't shiny, like usual, and her eyes are getting cloudy. Anyway, my question is: She is due to be fed in the next couple of days, and I am not sure if I am supposed to feed her or not when she is getting ready to shed...?
Could someone please take a minute to let me know what to do?
Thank you all so much!

Some snakes will eat when "in the shed" and others won't.
Just try and see if it wants to. If it doesn't want to eat just pop it's mouse or mice in the freezer and try again after it sheds. It won't hurt your snake to miss a meal.
Remember that after the snake's eyes cloud up and it's body gets dull it will then go back to looking fairly normal and about three or four days later, it will shed.

>>A few of mine will refuse and a few won't.
My yearling Okeetee ate his "dinner" Saturday evening and an hour after eating he shed.
I don't remember him ever refusing a meal.

The only other input I have is that I have fed both hatchling corns and a young Children's Python while they were in shed and had the shed get stuck on the bulge of the meal. So if they are literally ABOUT to shed then feeding may not be a good idea.

Failure is not an option. It comes bundled with the software.
