I am officially out of control . . .

Homer1 Dec 28, 2003 10:24 PM

I went to the Midwest Reptile Show in Indy today. While there (as planned), I hovered around the only exceptional dart frog supplier there --the Quality Captives table (I'm the official pest at the Indy show). Well, I picked up the 4 Inferalanis tincs I had asked them to hold for me, and I made a general pest of myself for a few hours until my wife came to pick me up.

When my wife arrived, she just couldn't help herself, and she insisted that I get two of their leuc's as well. While she claimed that it was an "early birthday present" for me, I think she fell in love with the little guys right then and there. Who can blame her? These were some of the nicest leuc's I've seen, bar none . . . full grown (I'm pretty sure I've got a pair . . . an Melissa will vouch for me), and the colors and patterns were SUPERB!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure that coming home with 6 frogs qualifies me as out of control. Somebody stop me (please don't it's just an expression, and I'm revelling in my madness)!

I promise to post pics soon, so the rest of you can share in my insanity. However, tonight was devoted to getting the little guys all set up and tucked tight in their new environment. All I have to say is THANK YOU Sarah and Melissa! You two are the BEST! Great frogs, and a great day with fantastic people . . . what more can you ask?

Sounds good Homer. Leucs were my first frogs, and still a favorite of mine. The ladies at Quality Captives are also very very nice. I wish they had a table at the Columbus show, but they are there sometimes with rainforest junkies. I hope to get some more frogs from them in the future.

As for being out of control 6 is not too bad. I think everyone who gets into this hobby gets addicted...

Good luck with them and get some pictures for us.

A lot of people find it strange that we do not do the Columbus show since we are only 15 minutes from it. But when push comes to shove, we enjoy the KY & IN shows better than Columbus. Columbus is so crowded, we do not get to talk with existing & potential customers as much as we would like. Plus, it is just too crowded.

Hopefully you will be able to come over soon to take a look at our collection, Kyle.

I am going to have to do just that, but as soon as I do I will want more than I do already...

Be careful . . . once you see their frogs, you're hooked!

I bet, I spent yesterday and today cleaning out my basement and building a work bench. Next will be tanks and stands... Too bad I had to spend more on wood and thing today than I had planned. I am going to try to build a stand to hold 2 15gal high tanks. Right now I am bit unsure how to deal with the weight on the second or upper tank. I always go overboard with making it stable. My Azureus tank stand could hold a ton more weight. Better than not enough I guess.

Yes, I will vouch for Homer, he did get a little out of control at the show. Sarah and I were laughing pretty hard when his wife made him get two luecs (folks, we are not exagerating, she really did twist his arm, and made him buy them - she even wrote the check!!! )

Customers like Homer are why we enjoy the Indy show so much. Do not believe him when he says he is a pest - Homer jumped right in and helped our customers out and gave him a break. Plus, he aways brings goodies to the show.

Can't wait to see pics of how you set your cages up. It was nice finally meeting your wife.
