Hi all -
Many of you do this, but many more do not, so I'd like to make a little suggestion. If you:
1) Post a question to a message board (Especially one in all caps that reads "URGENT PLEASE HELP!!!"
2) Ask for help by email from a breeder or forum user and recieve it
3) Get a long email or forum post of advice from someone trying to help you with breeding/health/husbandry etc. of your animals,
It is only polite to at least respond to the email or post with a "Thanks." You don't have to acknowledge each individual who responded to the thread, but to just say "Thanks guys, I appreciate your help,. She ate a mouse!"
Or whatever), below your original post would be nice. This way those who answered at least knows you saw the response, which they may have spent half an hour writing.
Ditto with email!! This week I had two husbandry questions, one for Ralph Davis about balls and another for Robyn at Pro-exotics about a monitor. Both professionals responded immediately (on the weekend) with great answers. Robyn's response had to take at least 20 minutes to compose, and I didn't even buy the monitor from ProExotics! Now, how rude would it have been for me to read their emails, take the advice and not hit "reply" and say "thanks guys"?!?!
I do not believe most of the knowledgeable folks on these forums give advice because they want to be appreciated (or make money). Most simply like helping people and animals. But, this does not mean we should take lightly the time and effort they have spent to help us succeed.
Just my two cents,
Christy

.....I see nothing wrong in that.....you state your opinion as well.......many times I find you amusing and sometimes I think you are a bit mean....but that is up to you, I don't mind one way or another...I'm not very politically correct and that is fine with me.....
