Itchy Python

Hey everyone,

I noticed a strange behavior from my ball today. After his feeding, he started to rub his face against his body. I moved him back into his cage and he rubbed it along the walls. Is this normal? He just shed earlier that day, was this in response to the shed (which came out clean, one piece)? or is he trying to get some of the blood from the mouse off his face, since the mouse did bleed a little? any information on this would be great, thanks in advance

He's probably just realigning its jaws after eating. Most snakes will give a big yawn and maybe push their jaws against cage furniture to get them lined up just right again. Another possibility is that he's just exploring new or rearranged cage furniture. Either way, it's perfectly normal and absolutely nothing to worry about.

ps: Congratulations on the good shed!

Thanks for the reply,

I did notice that after his 'yawn' his jaw still didnt look normal, so he was probably just trying to get it back into place. I didnt know that was another way that it could be done, thanks again
