Any reptile shows in Minnesota or neighboring staes this time of year?

I am going to be in the area real soon picking up some very choice balls and thought that maybe if there was a snake show nearby I could Kill two birds with one stone, so to speak. I'll be going one weekend during January. Not sure which one yet. Thanks in advance to any who respond.

I live in MN and there hasn't been a reptile swap held here in many years. Not since the last midwest herp symposium was hosted by the MN herp Society about 7 or 8 years ago. It's unfortunate too since there is obviously a lot of interest. The MN herp society boasts about 500 current members, and there are a number of pet stores in the area whose main empasis is herps. Also a number of local breeders who have been in the business for decades. I don't know why we don't have any regular reptile shows in this state. If you are interested in visiting the MN herp societys monthly meeting, the next meeting is taking place on Friday Jan 9th. at 7:00PM here is a link to their website. They're usually pretty good about keeping it up to date. (by the way, Who are you getting the ball pythons from?)

I am new to collecting Ball Pythons and also belong to the MHS. I have at this time 29 Balls and 6 Corns. Just getting into breeding my Balls. Got a Pastel male doing his thing with 2 normal females and a pair of 100% Het Buttersctoch Ghosts doing their thing(althought i have not seen them doing it).

I agree that we should have some type of Herp show every year. I think it could be a good thing for local Herpers and also introduce new people to this.

I went to the Kansas City show a few months back and even thought it was small(from what i heard, since it was my 1st show), i had a great time there. I brought my 7 year old daughter and we had a blast looking and buying. Maybe a few big breeders could try something here, maybe once a year at a hotel, i know a Best Western that can rent a confrence room all day(8am till 7pm) for like $125.

Could sell booths for like $20 a pop and get interest built up for this. Would be worth looking into.

Where are you located at in Minnesota? I am in St. Paul...

Happy New Year... JohnZ
