Breeding cresteds

newherpaddict Dec 29, 2003 09:02 AM

When my crestie grows up I would like to breed him. After reading about breeding I dont know if I could keep up with all the eggs between school and sports and stuff. any advice? Also I would not want to breed for profit where could I sell the babies without buying a table at a show?

for selling you could, sell in the gecko classifieds on kingsnake, sell to friends, sell to local pet stores, ext.

Also, if your area has a local Pennysaver use that. Thats what I use. Its free advertising and then after a few sales you get referals. I've been doing it with my leopard geckos for a year now and it WORKS GREAT

As far as time goes with breeding, it really doesn't take but a minute or two more to check for eggs (We're talking just a few females correct?) while you are feeding/misting whatever. After the first clutch is laid, it becomes easier to track when she'll lay. As far as selling goes, cresteds sell themselves! If you have friends/family over take out your male, and it's almost love at first sight I SWEAR! Then when they find out how easy they are to care for it's a done deal! NO CRICKETS, room temp, and can be put in a planted vivarium, what's not to love? LOL
