Details about bedding from ealier post

A few people have been asking about where to get this...
it's actually called "Cell-Sorb Plus"

Here's their website with a link to a list of distributors.

http://www.cell-sorb-plus.com/

It's a paper product that has additives that actually counteract the effects of ammonia. It's reccommended for all small animal bedding including snakes. What I have been doing is mixing 2 parts cell-sorb with one part topsoil and 1 part peat moss. The cell sorb has a very drying effect and is pretty pricy, so adding the other ingredients helps counteract both of these things.

I keep newpaper in the hide area and feed them there to avoid ingestion, but it claims to be 100% non-toxic (I still don't like my snakes injesting anything but their food)

Anyway...Even with the mixture...I'm very happy with the odor control. The stuff works. And the snakes I've tried it with so far seem to enjoy their new substrate.
