Is anyone working with this species or know where I can acquire legal animals? THis species has always seemed interesting to me...does anyone have any information about its' captive husbandry? Almost all the articles I read are about natural history.

Can't help you, I thought that snake was protected and was illegal to keep/catch or buy. Atleast where I live.

They're typical around water areas, they eat fish, frogs.

I beleive that they are legally obtained...but I do believe there are bag limits. From what I understand their standard dietary fair is simular to rignecks...they generally eat earthworms, slugs and small salamanders...do you have personal experience with the species?

No I have no personal experience with this species, just going on what I've read.
