Looking for US Bairdi stock

gabbahey Dec 29, 2003 11:47 AM

I've seen several people offer Mexican specimens...but for some reason I prefer the drab US specimens...anyone have offspring or know of someone that would have some available? I am looking for 1.1

I take offense to calling the US stock drab. LOL.

Okay maybe drab is not the word...umm subdued tones...is that better?

I remeber being a boy of maybe 8 or 9 when I first saw these snakes in the Philadelphia zoo...they had them in a beatiful moutain woodland scene and ever since I've been in love with the beautiful form, color and disposition of the species...they are very graceful and frequently overlooked for more gawdy species...Funny, I go to show after show and see many exotics not available so long ago...tables and tables of milksnakes once only seen in books, pituophis species not even described 20 yrs. ago...corn snakes in so many colors and patterns (who ever knew that one day some morphs of cornsnakes would cost more than many boa and pythons)...green tree pythons, and more Womas than the market price should support...but you can't seem to find a decent Bairds rat or Nigra King usually anywhere

I was kidding about the drab, but I don't think this is subdued or drab. I agree that they may be subtle at times, but I think they are exciting. Just my 2 cents.

They are looking great Jimmy. Nice close up pics of them. I picked up a couple this year from Rick myself. I had to after I saw yours. LOL. Good luck.

This male is from Vivid Reptiles and I think it is a awsome looking animal. My woman may agree and call them drab because she does not see the beauty in them.

So how are those babies from the Adam Block/Vivid breeding doing? Can't wait to see how those will turn out. I've never seen a breeding from those two excellent bloodlines. I'm not saying there hasn't been, I'm just saying I haven't seen one.

Nice going. That doesn't surprise me they sold out. Maybe one of the people who got them will post pics later on.
