to my knowlege they are sign of dehydration/low humidity....(among other things)

whats your averge humidity?

I would suggest that you increase the humidy to about 70% for a little while. You may also want to soak the boa in some luke warm water for about 15-20 minutes a few days a week. This should straighten out your problem.
