Need help

KrisM Dec 29, 2003 12:52 PM

Hi,
I am allowed to get a bearded dragon but I don't have one yet. I want to make sure I get everything I need and can take care if him/her properly. If you could help me out a little by explaning the supplys and everything I would need and need to do that would be great. Thank you.

Many of your fixtures and a basking bulb can be purchased at Lowe's/Home Depot instead of buying in the pet store. Good find on your tank BTW.

You will need:
***A SUBSTRATE
(NO calcium sands, woodchips, walnut shells)
Babies should be on paper towel or shelf liner
(Walmart, Duck Brand)

***A UVB SOURCE
Either a Mercury Vapor Bulb (buy online) or
A Reptisun 5.0/8.0 uvb flourescent.

***A BASKING LIGHT/HEAT SOURCE
a spot light or regular household bulb,
whatever brings the basking temp to at
least 100 degrees.

***FIXTURES FOR YOUR BULBS
This choice will depend on what UVB source is
you use. (Explaination at bottom)

***A DIGITAL THERMOMETER
You can get this at Walmart, Lowe's,
Home Depot.

***CALCIUM W/D3 AND MULTIVITAMINS
Products made by Rep-Cal are popular
Make sure you get "NO phosphorus or
Vitamin A"
