Is anyone familiar with Prehistoric Pets online? They seem to be very nice people and I am thinking about getting BTS from them.

But it would be so helpful to identify good / bad experiences here.
but don't ever try to say anything negative, even if it is blatant negligence causing the death of an animal...because it will be yanked faster than you can blink an eye.

We all need aplace where we can find out who is selling good stuff and bad. I am always concerened when I see all these sellers. I have found just enough to know that some vendors found on the net are just fraud folks... but we are not provided and forums to cover them.
It would be so nice to know if a fake seller was on the classifieds . ONe vendor that sells in the lizard section has been caught up in a importation scandal (articles from this site)but he sells..... What are we to do?
I love this site....... but don't know if I should trust.
but you're not allowed to post those links on Kingsnake either.
They bleep them, if you try.

it runs a lot deeper than being politically correct.
The almighty $$ is what determines what can and cannot be posted on here.
There is no way KS is going to allow anyone to say anything negative about one of thier advertising dealers and have them pull the ads...thus pulling their financial support of the site.

But as we all know, it would be so helpful to feel like you could be from different vendors based on others feedbacks. I do know of a few other much smaller sites with such feedback links..
I do know or at least I think, that some major posters in the classified sections have been fraudish........
Oh well..... as some folks say. Let the Buyer get the shaft...
I almost bought from one that was caught up in illegal importation glad i didn't . his name is in an article with a link posted on this site......
I too know of some sites that allow people to discuss thier experiences with dealers, good AND bad.
I guess your only options would be to take your questions to those sites, and use this site for information regarding the care of your reptiles.
The other option would be to ask if anyone is familiar with a particular vendor, and request that they privately email you their replies...keeping everything out of the public eye.
I don't 100% agree with the censorship that takes place here...but...they are the mods, and they make the decisions.

Hi Ed,
Call me obsesive compulsive, but they're the only BTS I can find available. I really don't see that they're all that different except for the coloring. But I'm still going to the show in Maryland on Saturday just so I see what options are available to me.
I've been on this forum for a while now and should have figured it out by now. What is n/p? I thought it "no problem", then "nice picture"now I'm confused, which isn't a hard thing for me to do.
Barbara
Hi, Barbara:
Coloring is not what you need to be concerned about if and when you decide to get another BTS. As I wrote below, the right BTS is worth waiting for. If you buy the first thing that comes along, you may end up with another imported animal or captive-born animal from an imported animal. Barbara, you do not want that AGAIN. Don't make the same mistake twice; not only because the animal may end up dying, but more importantly because purchasing such animals encourages the indiscriminate and inhumane importation of Indonesian BTS.
The options you have available are to settle for the wrong animal now or wait for the right animal at the right time.
Take care.
