well here is a picture of my little girl, roxy. i have had her for about two months now. today i finally decided that it would be wise to get a scale and weigh her and she weighed in at just over 200grams and is 21 inches long. is that normal for a baby that was born in april of 03.... or was i miss informed from the man that i bought her from??? or is she just a little girl? when i got her i was told she was only eating mice hoppers, but i thought that wasn't enough and now she eats baby rats, the ones with the eyes open. since i made the change she has started to grow a lot more.

good move on switching to larger food. I fed my ball python (when she was the size of yours) 1 adult mouse a week. It may seem big, but id rather feed big once a week than smaller twice a week. She if she can take an adult mouse, or a rat the same size (may be a fuzzy rat)... My girl now eats 130gram rats once per week on saturdays, and is 1135grams from he april 03 weight of 88-90grams.

so your girl was from april of 03 and has grown that much, or that she moved up in rat size since aprile??? if so is my snake in a serious problem of not growing enough or maybe just that i am missinformed on her hatch date???

I wasnt being totaly honest about my feeding habits.
I fed my snake once a week an adult mouse till it hit 400grams (about the middle of june) then i fed her when ever she felt like it, and that was once every 3 days. In october she hit the 950gram mark when i started to feed her small rats.

My snake will eat anything i have (rats/mice) when ever she can. and thats when i give it to her. I have a strict feeding schedule now after 1kgram for 1 130gram rat per week. I will not stray off this schedule till she starts to breed.

ok, sorry, i'm really not dumb, just not understanding. so your snake grew 1000 grams since april?????? if so what is wrong with my snake!!!! i have been feeding her adult mice/fuzzy rats once a week every week for the last two months and she hasn't grown that much. i tend to worry about her as she is my first ball baby and just want to make sure that i'm doing everything right to make her healthy. so if what i'm assuming is right, that your snake grew that much in just 8 months, my snake prolly isn't from april then is she. maybe from august or something, which might explain her small size????? sorry, i'm a worrier

try feeding her two times a week. she may grow faster. Nothing is wrong with your snake, it will take time. within a couple months, it will grow and you wont even know it. I dont remember my snake getting as big as it is now. Weigh her like once a month, but dont fret if its below my weight, as long as hes gaining its fine.

is a early may '03. He is 21 inches and 190 gr. I was feeding him 1 adult mouse every five days, he's been active and seems happy(as far as I can possibly tell). I know females are supposed to get larger than males more quickly but I'm sure you have nothing to worry about. (Listen to me...I'm the worrying champ and I'm trying to reassure someone....) thanks for your reply. i think you and me may have a good running of who is the bigger worrier, jk i just worry about her because she is my little girl and i had heard so many different things that it's good to hear that someone else's baby that is about the same age as mine is about the same size.
