MORE ON CROC SKINKS

sallie_keeper Dec 29, 2003 10:20 PM

I want to know where I can find good care information on the red-eye croc skink. I have been looking into these lizards and so far I am still in love with it. I have checked websites, and all, cant find much care info on them.

I found that my local petshop actually has a pair, but they looked very skinny to me. I do not know enough about them to know what is healthy and what is not.

Can ANYONE help me out on this? Any advice is greatly welcomed..

thanks,
Harpy

The tails shouldn't be fat, but they should have plump little bellies. Scrawny ones might end up being more trouble than they're worth. Their favorite food is insect larvae, and mine will also eat earthworms and crickets. They like a big water dish (apparently so they can poop in it), they like to burrow, they are stictly nocturnal, they require high humidity and should not be kept above 85 degrees. Whew! That's all I know. Most of them are wild caught. Mine don't seem to have parasite trouble but the ones at the pet store might.

Peter: It's OK, I'll handle it. I read a book about something like this.
Brian: Are you sure it was a book? Are you sure it wasn't NOTHING?
