Need specific species I.D. on Hemidactylus hatchlings

lovelyleopards Dec 30, 2003 12:26 AM

Might be easier said than done, but this is the best photo I can get. These were captured yesterday night in the Metarie area of New Orleans. I can't decide from pics I can find on the 'net if they are H. maboui, H. turcicus, or something else. Pretty sure they aren't frenatus though. I'm leaning toward maboui - any thoughts?

turcicus--we have lots of the same here in south TX, and that's what they are. I don't think mabouia or frenatus have quite as large a distribution stateside as turcicus.
