I have indoor/outdoor carpet (Not astroturf)
Is it safe to use for snakes? Will it melt
with the UTH? Anything in the fabric that is
harmful or anything like the pine shavings are
to snakes?

Another pic of the carpet on my photos page.

Thanks
Shane

I USE SEVERAL DIFFERANT KINDS SUCH AS PINE SHAVINGS, NEWS PAPER, AND CYPRES MULCH THEY ARE ALL GOOD AND ALL CHEAP. I DONT LIKE TO USE FABRIC TYPES BECAUSE THE WILL HOLD BACTERIA. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR HERP.

For my Ball Python I use Lizard Liner - it's a green felt like carpet. It's safe. I just change it out with a clean piece each week and clean (hot soapy water) and disinfect (Nolvasan/Virosan) and dry the the dirty piece until the next week. Little bit more work than newspaper, but I prefer the look and don't mind the extra work.
