This link is to five photos of the large retic in question. It doesn't appear to be quite as large as stated, although definitely a large snake.

Thanks Kelly for posting the pics link. I was very curious about what this huge snake looked like.
What do you guys think about this extrordinary claim? I looked at the 5th pic and using the onlookers as a gauge, I roughly estimate the snake to be about 30' at most. It is a huge retic though, regardless if the claim is false.

If I had to guess I would say between 20 and 25 feet.

the photo's I think are misleading. The ones with the caretakers hand on it does not make the snake look nearly thick enough to be as big as reputed. Also all the photos with the onlookers are taken at angles to make the snake look large and the onlookers small. I have seen plenty of large pythons and my guestimate is it is 20-25 feet and around 200 pounds. No way that that snake is 50' and nearly half a ton. Just my .02
