Does anyone elses kingsnake prefer to sleep up high? -msg

I recently got a new "toy" decoration for my baby kingsnakes cage. I got it at PetCo - it's one of the fake tree/branch combo. It's pretty study and has a nice rock on the bottom to ancho it down. Anyway, up until this point I rarely saw my snake during the day because he was always buried under the substrate.

Now he has found this tree to be quite comfortable. He climbs up it and curls up on the biggest leaf. He seems very content to spend his day there.

This is one of the nice things about having such a large tank for him - there's plently of room to decorate!

I got my snake one of those flexible branches from Petco, but he doesn't get on it much, and i assumed that was because he's too shy to come out much. Maybe he doesn't because I just found out that my tank is a little cold for him, the cold side and warm side are both the same temperature even though I have one of those mat heater things.
